Niobium Powder
Niobium Powder (CAS No. 7440-03-1) is light grey with a high melting point and anti-corrosion. It takes on a bluish tint when exposed to air at room temperatures for extended periods. Niobium is a rare, soft, malleable, ductile, gray-white metal. It has a body-centered cubic crystalline structure and in its physical and chemical properties it resembles tantalum. The metal’s oxidation in air commences at 200°C. Niobium, when used in alloying, improves strength. Its superconductive properties are enhanced when combined with zirconium. Niobium micron powder finds itself in various applications such as electronics, alloy-making, and medical due to its desirable chemical, electrical, and mechanical properties.
